XZSLTM tire is the first radial developed specifically for skid steer equipment
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Michelin has moved production of XZSLTM skid steer tires to the company’s production facility in Spartanburg, S.C. from Central France. The XZSL is the first radial tire developed for skid-steer loaders and other light construction equipment.
"Seventy-five percent of the global market for skid steer tires is located in North America," says Michael Ford, market segment manager for skid steer tires at Michelin Earthmover. "Michelin XZSL tires are superior in many skid steer loader applications. They last longer and provide confidence and more reliable performance than similar sized bias-ply tires currently available."
Since the tire was introduced in 1999, customers have realized considerable cost savings and performance benefits when compared to traditional bias-ply tires. In typical construction environments, Michelin XZSL skid steer tires have lasted up to six times longer than bias-ply tires.
The XZSL is a steel-belted radial with a steel casing and special rubber compounds that help increase resistance to cuts and abrasions resulting in fewer flats and longer tread life. It delivers enhanced traction and handling and a smooth, stable ride. The XZSL also features an aggressive, non-directional tread pattern that leaves fewer marks on concrete and pavement.
